I did say I would watch the interview. (Although you will not watch or read anything I have suggested.) However, I am not speaking to the technical guilt or innocence of Rittenhouse but the context of a white supremacist movement that has been growing in this country. Is he a part of this or not? We do not know. There is some evidence there.

I am not speaking to whether or not he should be in jail. I keep saying this and you keep missing the point. I’m not trying to crucify Rittenhouse but rather to point to the issues that we are actually all dealing with in our society at this time. Some more than others.

I am not sure if that footage should’ve been allowed or not but it is out there. So, we are speaking to different things. My interest is in creating understanding between apparently different camps.

So, for example, you do mention that you think racism exists in this country. Great. Where do you think it exists? In what circumstances? and how shall we deal with that? Do you think it might exist in police departments—at least some of them? Do you believe that Donald Trump has white supremacist & racist leanings? What do we do about that? (And in this case, I would beg you to read my Medium essay that I have shared with you. Because we cannot just form opinions in vacuums.)
